NAUI DIVEMASTER TRAINING FEE:  $950

At Nautical Adventures Scuba, we train you to be more than a Divemaster!  Here you will learn what is needed to work in today's dive facilities such as compressor maintenance, tank fill operations, visual inspections, equipment repair and much more.  Don't be fooled with just learning the basics. 

   NAUI doesn’t mandate a strict “X days” course length. Instead, the focus is on:

• Demonstrating competency
• Building real leadership experience
• Meeting performance standards, not just logging time

The program is designed to train divers to organize and lead real dives and assist instructors, which naturally takes variable time depending on the candidate.

Why it feels like an internship-

Many NAUI Divemaster programs are delivered as:

• Ongoing mentorship
• Real-world assisting with classes
• Gradual skill development in actual dive operations

Even NAUI acknowledges that leadership-level training programs can be run in formats ranging from short intensive courses to extended “internship-style” programs 

That flexibility carries over into Divemaster training as well.

Real-world examples

Depending on the dive shop, you might see:

• Accelerated courses: a few weeks (very structured, less immersion)
• Internship-style programs: 1–3+ months working with a shop, assisting, guiding, and learning daily operations 

The big difference (and why NAUI does it this way)

NAUI leans heavily toward:

• Experience over checkboxes
• Leadership over just skills
• “Can you actually run dives safely?” vs “Did you show up for X days?”

So instead of:

“Congrats, you survived 10 days”

It’s more like:

“Show me you can handle divers, solve problems, and not lose the group… then you pass.”
